SUPERLITE (a.k.a. high index plastic or featherweights)
Vision Care providers say 80% of their patients want more cosmetically appealing eyeglass lenses. SUPERLITE lenses are made from high-index plastic resulting in a thinner, flatter more comfortable lens.
With a higher refractive index SUPERLITE lenses produce the same vision correction as a regular plastic lens but in a thinner and flatter lens—for improved appearance and better vision.

SAFETY LENSES (a.k.a. polycarbonate or trivex)

Polycarbonate lenses are 43% lighter and 10 times more impact resistant than standard plastic lenses, so they have the lightness and strength you need in a lens while also providing the enhanced comfort and cosmetic appearance you desire.
Safety lenses are made from polycarbonate plastic—which is found everywhere from your car to your home to essential accessories such as eyeglasses that make our lives better. From DVDs to many aesthetic applications including eyeglass lenses, consumers want the technology of tomorrow, with the style of tomorrow, and polycarbonate does just that.
Polycarbonate lenses are not only lighter in weight and thinner than traditional plastic lenses; they also offer scratch-resistance, ultraviolet protection and are very impact-resistant. In fact, weight/lightness was rated as the most important quality of a lens in a recent consumer survey†.

BIFOCAL LENSES
Lined Bi-focals provide two prescription powers: a distance power and a near power. The distance power helps you see things at a distance, while the near power corrects your vision for activities such as reading, knitting, or other close-up work.
Lined bi-focal lenses are available in a variety of options, including thin and light lenses, impact resistant lenses and transition lenses (lenses that change from light to dark).
TRIFOCAL LENSES
Lined Tri-focals provide three prescription powers: a distance power, a mid-range power, and a near power. The distance power helps you see things at a distance, the mid-range power helps you see things at intermediate distances, and the near power corrects your vision close up.
Tri-focal lenses are available in a variety of options, including thin and light lenses, impact resistant lenses and transition lenses (lenses that change from light to dark).

As-Worn Technology™
To further fine tune each Autograph® lens, Shamir incorporates As-Worn Technology™ by taking three additional, specific measurements from the patient: “Pantoscopic Tilt”, “Panoramic Angle” and “Vertex Distance”. These measurements will further fine tune the Rx given to the patient by the doctor to provide the patient with the proper Rx for the frame shape as it’s worn on the face. The Shamir Autograph® design is now fine-tuned to provide the most advanced, tailored optics available anywhere today.
Direct Lens Technology® & Prescriptor® Software
Transferring this data to the back surface of the lens is the combined effort of Shamir’s Direct Lens Technology® and Prescriptor® software, which captures each patients personalized information (Rx, PD, frame measurements and personal lifestyle preferences) and selects the design file required to generate a personalized lens. This information is then sent to the freeform production equipment which grinds the Autograph® design on the back surface of the lens, producing a personalized, custom made Autograph II® lens, created to the highest level of optical accuracy (0.01 diopters) and 20% wider fields of vision.

IV. Shamir Attitude
Shamir Attitude® is the first line of progressive addition lenses exclusively designed to provide uncompromised visual acuity in fashion-forward wrap around frames.
Using proprietary EyePoint Technology®, Shamir lens engineers employ surface asphericity to compensate for off-center unwanted astigmatism characteristic of grinding an Rx ranging from -4.00 to +2.00 in a Base 8 lens.
Shamir Attitude progressive lenses provide the cosmetic benefits of a Base 8 with optical performance of Base 3 and 5.
